Brer Fox: Folks, I wanter say right here an now, dat of all de creeturs in dis world, I am de sharpest.

Brer Wolf: Haw! Maybe you is de sharpest, but I’m de wickedest.

Miss Mink: An I’m de prettest.

Miss Possum: An I’m de spryest.

Brer Bear: Pooh! Who cares about all dat? I’m de strongest!

Brer Rabbit: Dese creeturs talk to biggity, exceptin’ my friend little Brer Terrapin, an he don’t talk biggity at all.

Brer Terrapin: Who wuz dat who say he is de strongest?

Brer Rabbit: Now, ladies and gentermens, you all just stay here wid Brer Bear. I’ll step down ter de edge of de pound wid Brer Terrapin. Soon ez I see him crawl down under de water, an it’s time for Brer bear ter pull, I’ll wave an holler, ‘Woop!

(Brer Rabbit hollers in the water.)

Brer Rabbit: Is you ready, Brer Terrapin?

(Brer Terrapin sends up a bubble that says yes.)

Brer Rabbit: Woop!

(Brer Rabbit waves to Brer Bear.)

Brer Rabbit: He says he’s gettin’ tired of waitin’. What’s de matter, Brer Bear? Ain’t you got no strength?

Brer Terrapin: Dat last pull of yours wuz purty stiff, Brer bear. Your strong, you’re mighty strong, but you just ain’t strong enuff! Now if you excuse me, I’ll take de taffy an go on along home. Come on, Brer Rabbit, give me a hand wid carryin’ dat great big pot.
